Slam City Skatepark & Shoppe is a community-based organization dedicated to providing youth of all ages with a safe and supportive environment to engage in a wide range of action sports. Each year, the skatepark hosts its premier event — the Slam City Action Sports Festival. As the only festival of its kind in the region, it features BMX and skateboarding competitions, live music, local food vendors, and a showcase of community merchants. All proceeds from the event directly support improvements and enhancements to the skatepark for the upcoming season.

As a long-time member of the action sports community, I was thrilled when the owner of the skatepark reached out to ask if I’d be interested in volunteering to support the marketing efforts for the 2024 festival. The goal was to create event branding that was bold and eye-catching, yet playful and inviting enough to appeal to attendees of all ages. My contributions included designing the event logo, social media graphics, website and social media banners, posters, and a promotional hype video. The event was a great success and helped bring increased visibility to the local action sports scene.
